NE-CAT User Database
The NE-CAT Experiment Submission Process
You can provide some documentation in electronic form: e.g., MSDS's for solutions
and chemicals, hazard information regarding your samples, and
descriptions of equipment you plan to bring. The
documentation can be in plain text, html, PDF or MS Word formats.
This database is intended to provide the information needed in advance for the NE-CAT
supporting staff to prepare for your visit as well as meet the requirements imposed by the Department
of Energy, Argonne National Laboratory, and the Advanced Photon Source (APS) for experimentation at the APS.
The information needed includes:
- People in your group
- Samples you want to bring
- Chemicals and gasses you will use
- Equipment (such as pressure chambers and items which may pose a
safety hazard not listed above) you will bring
- Finally, a brief description of the research to be conducted. You may select from the list of people, samples,
chemicals, and equipment already entered and add the plain text, html,
or MS Word document to complete your proposal.
Note: The who, whats, and whys are entered directly into a
database which your group can access and edit at any time. Our goal
is to reduce the amount of work you need to do to submit a proposal.
If, at a later time, you want to submit a new proposal, you can add
new people, samples, chemicals, and equipment and still select from
the lists of these items you have entered already.
